Sarah D'Aloisio, RHN
My Journey To Holistic Wellness
Sarah is known for her genuine and caring personality. Health and wellness have always been a passion of hers. Growing up surrounded by a family of healthcare practitioners, she’s always had the desire to help others and share her knowledge. Having always been fascinated by body sciences, she decided to pursue her post-secondary studies in Foods and Nutrition at Brescia University College. She enjoyed the program and knew she was on the right track but felt like there was something missing. She wanted to learn about the healing power of foods, she wanted to learn how to improve her life and wellbeing from day to day with food instead of focusing on the application of nutrition in a clinical setting. She didn’t agree with the “one size fits all” approach in the dietetics program.
Sarah started her journey in the holistic field when she found the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, she knew that it was the missing piece to complement her scientific background. Holistic nutrition was the missing link. CSNN is where she discovered the impact that a personalized diet can have on one's health and well-being. She completed her diploma in Natural Nutrition and received her designation as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist in 2017.
She found yoga in 2013 and began practicing on a regular basis in 2015. She wanted to share her passion for the practice and become a bigger part of London's yoga community by enrolling in her first teacher training; Moksha Yoga Level 1 in 2017. She has been teaching at Moksha Yoga London and throughout the community ever since. Her dream has been to marry the two, yoga and nutrition - physical asana, mindfulness eating, and foods that support wellbeing to allow clients to transform their lives.
In her personal life, she suffered from body dysmorphia and disordered eating for over a decade. Changing her lifestyle has transformed her relationship with food and with her own body.
"Yoga and healthy eating have allowed me to heal from the inside out, the way I eat is a form of self-care and self-love that has impacted all areas of my life. The way I eat is a reflection of how I care for myself and the planet" -Sarah D'Aloisio
